JINGNA ZHANG

Born 1988 in Beijing, Jingna lives and works in New York City. A former rifle shooter, Jingna was a Commonwealth Games medalist and represented Singapore in ISSF World Cups from 2002-2008. She was a student at Raffles Girl’s School and Lasalle College of the Arts until the age of 19, where she dropped out and self-published her first photobook, “Something Beautiful”.

In the years since, Jingna's photography has been featured on international editions of Vogue, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar. Her solo exhibitions include venues at The Arts House and Japan Creative Centre in Singapore, and group exhibits include Milan, New York, Hong Kong, and Beijing; with brands such as Vogue Italia, Clé de Peau Beauté, and Tsinghua University.

Jingna was the youngest Fellow admitted to Master Photographers Association (UK) in 2009, Photographer of the Year at ELLE Awards Singapore in 2011, and was a recipient of the 7th Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers in 2015. She is an alumna of Stanford Ignite in New York City, and her works are represented by Trunk Archive, the world's leading image licensing agency.

Jingna currently teaches a course on artistic portrait photography at Learn Squared. She is also producing the Motherland Chronicles artbook. In her free time, Jingna enjoys Go, Gundam, and reading.
